Centauro Palma di Majorca airport withheld from my credit card the deposit of 1,091 Euros for nonexistent damages. I have already filed several complaints, personally and through an Italian lawyer, to Centauro customer care and legal dept but they answered lately and partially and, finally, rejected my claims. They did not provide any concrete evidence of the alleged damage and the reparation expenses. They breached the T&C by do not inform me about the alleged damages and the withheld of the deposit. Unfortunately, I did not ask for the check-out paper when I gave back the car.On 4.6.23 I returned the car in perfect condition and punctually at Centauro Palma di Majorca Airport. The car rental employee in the yard confirmed that everything was fine, accepted the car and took the keys without raising any objections or contest anything. Note that I did not put the keys in a box or something similar but put them in the employee’s hands. From that moment on, I can no longer be held responsible for any damages eventually occurred later to the car. Unfortunately, I did not wait for the car check-out, and I did not ask for the check-out paper. Even after the return of the car, in violation of art. 5 of the T&C, Centauro did not claimed for any damage and did not communicate the charge of the deposit.I contacted Centauro customer service several times asking why the warranty deposit was still present among the expenses of the month. Centauro did not dispute or contest anything but replied that everything was fine, and that the chargeback could take more (from 10 to 12 working days). I sent a further communication warning them not to proceed with the charge, the answer was always the same (no dispute, no claim for damages, reversal in progress). After the monthly charge in the credit card, I wrote back to Centauro, but I had no answer. Only on July 21, through the intermediary Rentalcars, I learned that the warranty had been withheld for alleged damage to the car. Rentalcars sent me a Centauro invoice that had never been sent to me before.I contested immediately the charge to Centauro, pointing out that I had returned the car in perfect condition and that they had never contested to me any damage. I also pointed out that the invoice was incorrect since it reported the replacement of a spare part that was not even present in the Kia Ceed.On August 1, after several attempts, Centauro sent me a photo of the alleged damage. The photo is completely useless and does not prove that it was the car I rented. It is not possible to recognize the model of the car, there is not the plate nor any indication of the date and place where the photo was taken. I pointed this out to the Centauro asking for a proof that it was the car I rented and the indication of the date and place where the photo was taken. I asked also for the garage’s invoice for the repair. Centauro replied that they do not send third-party invoices. After my further requests, on August 21, they sent me a second photo of the alleged damage. Also this second photo is completely useless since it is not possible to identify the car or the place and date of the photo. Among others, they write about new damage and the alleged damage is marked in a different position respect their previous communication. Centauro also rejected my lawyer's request.
