Dear Sirs: I hired a plane trip with Iberia from Malaga airport to Orlando, departing on March 12, 2026, making a stopover in Madrid, traveling in Premium Economy class. Upon arrival at Orlando airport, the baggage did not appear on the corresponding tape, receiving it approximately 27 hours later, at 8:00 p.m. the next day. Before leaving the airport, I submitted the appropriate claim to the airline, recording the incidence of the Baggage Irregularity Port (PIR), with number MCOIB10050. I provide the PIR document and the ticket. Given the delay in the delivery of checked baggage, I was forced to make immediate and necessary expenses, since the trip was strictly professional and I had to attend that same afternoon to work commitments, meetings and professional dinners, as well as new meetings the next day. Expenses incurred included appropriate clothing for professional meetings, basic personal hygiene products, makeup, essential medicines and other items necessary to cover the first 30 hours without baggage. The total amount of expenses incurred amounted to 2,451.64 USD. I provide the documentary justification of said expenses through corresponding invoices and tickets. In addition, the suitcase was not delivered directly to the destination, but I had to travel personally to pick it up, since otherwise the delivery would have been delayed at least another 24 additional hours. I have requested a refund from Iberia three times, receiving only a compensation proposal of 93 euros, a clearly insufficient amount compared to the damages and expenses actually caused by the delay. I REQUEST the amount of 1,500 euros as compensation for the damage caused by delay in the delivery of checked baggage, in accordance with the provisions of the Montreal Convention and in consideration of the professional nature of the trip, the duration of the delay and the documented expenses. Without any other particular, sincerely.
