Hello, I made a hotel reservation on the eDreams website where the price was listed as 105 euros per night. On other sites like Trapalo or Booking, it was 112 euros per night—a similar price. When booking, I agreed to pay 107 euros. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF ANY EXTRA CHARGES. When they charged my Visa card, the total came to 170 euros. At no point was I warned about any extra processing or service fees. WHEN I REACHED THE PAYMENT GATEWAY, THE AMOUNT SHOWN WAS 107 EUROS, YET THEY CHARGED ME 170!!! They cannot charge a 65-euro processing fee for booking a single hotel night. I contacted the hotel chain, and they confirmed that the room rate is 105 euros and that they do not apply any processing fees. If this isn't resolved, I will report the matter on social media (in addition to filing complaints with consumer protection agencies, the OCU, and the tourism department). I am a hotel and restaurant critic; I run a travel blog, am a founding member of TripAdvisor with over a thousand reviews and more than a hundred thousand readers, and I collaborate with various travel websites. I have never encountered such an exorbitant, unauthorized charge on a hotel reservation. Please rectify this unauthorized charge. I am not asking for a refund of the 105-euro room rate—I am aware that it is non-refundable. I want a refund of the 65-euro charge for the excessive and unauthorized processing fees. These fees did not appear anywhere on the website, nor did they appear at the time of payment. I expect an immediate refund. Thank you.
