Dear Sirs:This mail is a claim for amicable but formal request to the company Sixt for compensation of the economic damage caused by the disintegration of the right rear wheel occurred on 29 August 2023 in the vehicle rented from the company whose copy is attached as document 1 to this mail. This is obviously due to and is a consequence of the poor condition of the tyres of the vehicle assigned to us.The return of the rented vehicle was agreed for the same day at 19h. at the airport of Amman (Jordan), where the return flight to Barcelona took off at 10h.10' as shown in the attached document 2. Our return journey began in South Coast from where we left at 15h. At around 15.30 p.m. on the road to Aqaba at the km shown in document 3, the unfortunate and dangerous blowout occurred, which could have cost us our lives if we had driven at a higher speed. The attached document 3 shows a photo of the state of the tyre. After managing to replace the tyre with the spare, which was in equally deplorable condition, and without any communication with either the office or the assistance numbers provided in the contract document, we had to go to the Aqaba office to report what had happened and to get a good tyre. The Aqaba office was closed and we opted to go to the King Hussein airport office in Aqaba. The employee who was not on site took more than half an hour to come and it took another half an hour to change the wheel. So it was not until 19h.10' that we were able to have the vehicle at our disposal under the conditions stated in the contract. The distance from Aqaba to Amman is approximately 300 km and takes more than 3 hours. Although it was extremely difficult to arrive on time for our flight, we tried, but the employee at the Sixt office at the Amman airport did not provide us with any kind of facility to speed up the delivery of the vehicle and the keys, as can be seen in the conversation with the employee in the attached document4. Finally, as stated in the document, the time of arrival was 9.50 a.m. with the boarding gates closed and causing us to miss our flights. We were forced to purchase new tickets (the cheapest ones) to return to Spain, the reservation details and price of which are shown in document 5 attached.I believe that is immoral and illegal to put people's lives at stake and it is unbecoming of an international company like Sixt in the way it treats its customers. I am sure it is reportable and punishable. As fortunately for all of us there was no personal misfortune, I am not considering fcriminal legal action for the time being. However, I will not hesitate to do so if the company neglects its responsibility towards me in this matter. They must fulfil their obligation to take responsibility for the financial cost of their negligence or malpractice by paying us the integral damage. We look forward to your prompt response,Best regards,Laura
