Dear OCU Team, I am writing to file a formal complaint against the rental intermediary DoYouSpain (doyouspain.com) regarding reservation reference DYS­204121554. I am a resident of Spain and made a car rental booking through DoYouSpain with WIBER RENT A CAR for yesterday. When I arrived at the WIBER counter, I was refused the vehicle on the grounds that I could not provide an inbound and outbound flight boarding pass for the same day — a requirement that was never disclosed to me at any point during the booking process. This condition was not stated on the booking platform, nor in the confirmation voucher I received. Had it been clearly communicated, I would not have completed the reservation. As a Spain resident, I do not travel on a round-trip international flight to rent a car domestically, and I have successfully rented vehicles from other companies in Spain without facing this requirement. Since DoYouSpain failed to render the service I paid for — and since the failure was due to an undisclosed condition on their part, not mine — I am entitled to a full refund under Spanish consumer protection law and EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights. Despite contacting DoYouSpain customer service multiple times, I have received contradictory and unsatisfactory responses: • On one occasion I was told to wait for WIBER’s reply. • On another, I was offered a credit voucher instead of a refund. • Most recently, I was told to make a new reservation and they would then refund the original — an arrangement I find unacceptable given the urgent circumstances. I urgently needed the vehicle to travel to Seville for a business appointment, which I was unable to make due to this situation. I cannot accept a credit or wait indefinitely. I am requesting a full cash refund to my original payment method. I kindly ask OCU to intervene and support my consumer rights in obtaining this refund promptly.
