I am submitting this complaint regarding the conduct of the hotel manager, Mr Sayed Akl, during my stay at EUROCLUB Hotel from 10 to 16 September 2026.
During our stay, we experienced an ongoing problem with the air-conditioning system, which remained unavailable for four of the six nights. After repeatedly reporting the problem and attempting to obtain a solution, we tried on several occasions to speak directly with the hotel manager. Despite our efforts, it was extremely difficult to reach him.
When we were finally able to speak with Mr Sayed Akl, I personally attempted to explain the situation and participate in the complaint as one of the hotel guests concerned.
During this conversation, Mr Akl told me to be quiet and stated that he was speaking to “the man”, referring to my male partner, effectively dismissing my participation in the conversation despite the fact that I was also a customer directly involved in the complaint.
I found this treatment demeaning, inappropriate and discriminatory on the grounds of sex. Being a woman should not result in my concerns being dismissed or in a hotel manager refusing to address me while choosing instead to speak exclusively to my male partner.
Mr Akl also stated that he had nothing to discuss with us and that the matter should be dealt with through Booking.com.
The purpose of this complaint is not to request financial compensation, but to formally document the treatment I received from the hotel manager and to ensure that EUROCLUB Hotel is made aware of the seriousness of this incident.
I REQUEST that EUROCLUB Hotel formally acknowledge this complaint, review the conduct of Mr Sayed Akl and provide a written response regarding the incident and the measures, if any, taken following its review.
I consider it important that female guests are treated with the same respect and consideration as male guests when raising a complaint or communicating with hotel management.
