Over 40,000 people have signed up to www.quieropagarmenosmovil.org
28 oct. 2015Madrid, 28 October, 2015. The number of people who have signed up to the collective purchase of telephone services promoted by OCU has reached 40,000. The data provided by users interested in this initiative shows that the consumer profile most in demand is for a tariff that includes 200 minutes call time and 1 gigabyte (GB) to surf the Internet.
So far as voice calls are concerned, 24% of the people registered prefer a deal which includes 200 minutes, 19% opted for a 100 minutes and 16% prefer a flat rate. The option to pay for each call individually only interested 10% of users.
The 1GB option is preferred by 30% of users who have registered. 23% opt for a deal which includes 2 GB and 18% for 3GB deal which clearly suggests Internet-intensive use. At the other end of the scale, 12% of users prefer deals that do not exceed 500 MB.
By cities, Madrid with 11,429, Barcelona with 4,395 and Valencia with 2,545 are the cities with the most people signed up to the collective purchase. By contrast, the towns of Cuenca, Teruel and Soria have the least participation in this initiative promoted by OCU.
As for the monthly cost of the mobile phone bill, the average of those signed up to the collective purchase is € 20.
The explicit aim of this collective purchase promoted by OCU is so that consumers can save on their mobile phone bill by an auction of voice and data bundles in which all companies are invited to participate. At the same time you can simplify changing your operator by visiting the OCU webpage: www.quieropagarmenosmovil.org
One of the most important obstacles that consumers face in order to change companies and benefit from better tariffs and conditions are the permanence clauses: 1 in 3 consumers who have signed up confirm that they are subject to a clause of this type. This is either because they have a subsidised or financed handset or because they have a special tariff which requires a commitment to a period of permanence.
Finally OCU reminds consumers that the chance to sign up to this collective purchase ends on Friday 30 October. Therefore it calls on all consumers interested in saving on their phone bill to register for the OCU collective purchase through the page:
