OCU warns of the rising trend in the prices of telecommunications services

01 jul. 2016

The CNMC just made public telecommunication data CNMC Household Panel for the fourth quarter of 2015. This data confirms that the prices of these services have broken the downward trend of recent years and widespread price increases are consolidated.

OCU has been warning for months of this new trend to higher prices for telecommunications services by all the major market participants. These price increases will have continuity.

Movistar recently announced a new rise in the price of its Fusion packages starting this July. With this there are now three rate increases accumulated since May 2015 with the price of the fusion products has increased to 15%. This time the rise is justified by the cost of football rights, the decision taken by the company has involved "in solidarity" that cost among all customers regardless of whether they are interested in football this service or not. So that the most demanded product Fusion + 30Mb up 2 € more from 68 to 70 euros and incorporates the league and Fusion + 300Mb package up 5 € in exchange for parties include Champions.

According to these policies OCU price increase in exchange for no additional optional services harms consumers that despite having no interest in additional services have to bear the cost thereof without alternative.

OCU recommends compare products and packages between companies to choose the product that best fits your needs, for more information refer to: http://www.ocu.org/tecnologia/telefono/calculadora/ahorrador-telefonico/?location
