IBERIA and VUELING no longer charge fees for paying by card
18 nov. 2014OCU has verified that both IBERIA and VUELING no longer charge a fee for using a credit card. This is the first step in the OCU campaign against illegal charges for card payments. On 1 September, the law banning these commissions came into force. However many companies, especially in the airline sector, continued to apply these fees despite it being manifestly illegal. OCU reported IBERIA and VUELING and other companies. To do this it sought the help of citizens through social networks. The first step has already been achieved. Thanks to these complaints, these companies have stopped charging customers for paying by card. OCU will continue to denounce other companies that currently are still charging this clearly illegal fee. In the near future new cases will be added to those already presented with the aim of eradicating this practice which is clearly detrimental to the interests of consumers.
