OCU signs the manifesto of support for domestic energy production
04 jul. 2014With this manifesto, we want to defend the development of domestic energy generation systems in different models and remove any barriers that slow down the expansion of a beneficial technology option for citizens, businesses and for the whole country as well as provide an opportunity for citizens, the self-employed and SMEs to obtain significant savings in energy costs. With domestic energy production systems, savings are achieved through the generation of distributed clean energy, reducing the costs of the electrical system and creating wealth for the whole country.
Domestic energy production: A sustainable and profitable option
In recent years, domestic energy generation technology has evolved considerably by reducing costs and successive innovations in the value chain. These advances have managed to achieve a competitive price and so become a viable option for citizens, businesses, the self-employed and small and medium sized companies. An option that produces clean energy and also generates wealth and technological development for our country and jobs for our citizens. In this sense, the manifesto contemplates the following statements:
• Producing your own energy is freedom and competitiveness for citizens and businesses.
• Producing your own energy represents greater independence for citizens, businesses and regions.
• Producing your own energy is the engine of growth and employment.
• Producing your own energy improves energy independence for Spain.
• Producing your own energy is a vector of energy efficiency.
• Producing your own energy promotes the efficient use of resources.
• Producing your own energy is a positive contribution against global warming.
• Producing your own energy promotes technological development.
• Producing your own energy is part of the new economic model.
• The draft royal decree about producing your own energy concerns individual freedom and that of society in general.
This manifesto already has the support of dozens of organisations (and the institutions from which they are made up), among which are ACER, AECIM (Madrid Association of Metal Companies), AIFOC, APERBAL, APPA, APREAN, AREMUR, ASECE, ASIECAM, ASEFOSAM, AVAESEN, Cluster energy from Extremadura, CONAIF, Ecologists in Action, FEMEVAL, FENIE, FERCA Territorial Barcelona, FIECOV, Sustainable Development Foundation, Greenpeace, GREMI d'Installadors i Pimes CRM, OCU, PLATFORM FOR A NEW ENERGY MODEL, SERCOBE, Friends of the Earth, UNEF, UPA Union of Small Farmers and Livestock Owners, WWF and ASEFOSAM (Madrid Association of Plumbing, Drainage, Gas, Heating, Air Conditioning, Maintenance, Electricity and Allied Trades).
