Notaries and Registrars. Cancellation of mortgages

In November we learned of the judgment of Administrative Litigation of the Supreme Court, where the appeal by the General Council of Notaries was dismissed and OCU was declared to be correct in their interpretation of the overcharging that notaries and registrars have been carrying out since 2007 in the cancellation of mortgages. OCU asked the Ministry of Justice, the State Prosecutor and the Ombudsman to take appropriate measures to ensure the return of more than 400 million euros that notaries and registrars may have overcharged consumers.
