OCU appeared before the Subcommittee for transparent reporting of financial and mortgage products by credit institutions of the Spanish Parliament to denounce the lack of transparency from financial institutions in the marketing of certain products, notably preference shares and in mortgage lending, where they called for measures to make customer complaint procedures more effective. As a result of that hearing, the UPyD parliamentary group presented a non-legislative motion which took up OCU’s request for a grievance procedure which would be binding for financial institutions.
