OCU to present 723 lawsuits in defence of BANKIA shareholders
17 mar. 2015OCU will present a total of 723 lawsuits aimed at recovering the money invested by thousands of shareholders who took part in the public offering of shares (IPO) which culminated in the bank’s floatation. The total amount of claims exceeds 2,000,000 euros.
OCU points out that the decision to invest, by many small shareholders, was taken because the company presented an unrealistic view of its financial position, as was highlighted in the publication of the report by experts from the Bank of Spain.
Subsequently, these thousands of shareholders have suffered losses of 99% of their investment, not because of market developments but because of the bank’s financial difficulties. In particular, the legal action is aimed at people who took part in the IPO or bought shares up until the nationalisation of the bank.
Those affected, who wish to do so, may join this legal action here http://www.ocu.org/dinero/nc/calculadora/accion-bankia in order to seek an annulment of the process due to the incorrect information provided in the IPO and also to reclaim the money invested, plus default interest up until April 15.
For further clarification regarding this legal action, OCU has made the following freephone 900 901 334 available to all concerned.
