OCU will facilitate the replacement of air conditioning units to improve energy efficiency
24 jun. 2015Under the European Union’s CLEAR programme, which aims to improve energy efficiency in homes, OCU is promoting the purchase of efficient air conditioning units.
The CLEAR project aims to create a web community with blogs written by experts, analysis, tools to calculate savings, practical reports and a forum for the exchange of views which aims to publicise renewable energy and how it saves money for consumers, as well as to promote energy efficiency.
OCU points out that air conditioning is one of the appliances which consume the most energy in the home and as a result means a higher cost for users. Depending on the climatic zone, the use of air conditioning with a heat pump in an average sized flat can mean an annual cost of up to 1,200 euros.
This is why the programme RenoVamos launched by OCU wants to bring to all consumers the most efficient technologies and so provide bigger savings. To meet that goal OCU has proposed this action to assist in the purchase of highly efficient products at significant discounts. In this case, air conditioners with heat pumps. You can buy via the link: www.renovamos.org/comprar-aire-acondicionado
To coincide with the summertime, when these appliances are used the most, the offer will remain open until 30 September.
Three models have been chosen depending on the characteristics of the room where they will be installed. They have low power consumption and are, according to the latest comparative analysis by OCU among the best air conditioners from the point of view of energy efficiency. For the consumer one of the recommended appliances could result in savings of 40% in energy consumption compared with others with inferior performance.
Promoting more efficient appliances through discounts and special prices is one of the aims of this programme. The higher cost of these devices is one reason why only 29% of consumers have air conditioning with a heat pump, the most efficient from the point of view of energy. Therefore OCU aims to help consumers to replace their air conditioning units for other more efficient devices that will save them money.
