OCU asks the Ministry of Industry to make public investigations emission levels
13 ene. 2017Following the investigations initiated in the United States against Fiat Chrysler and in France against Renault for supposed manipulations in the engines to circumvent the established limits to the NOx emissions, the Organization of Consumers and Users has asked to the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism To make public the reports on the investigations it has been conducting since December 2015.
For OCU it is fundamental that public administrations defend the interests of consumers above those of the automotive industry and regrets the differences between what is happening in other countries and what happens in Spain with the case of emissions fraud. For OCU it is clear that while in France the actions initiated are beginning to bear fruit in the form of judicial investigations, in Spain the authorities have limited themselves to opening a file against Volkswagen to close it immediately with the excuse of the judicial proceedings already open.
Finally OCU recalls that in the month of July filed a class action against the group Volkswagen Audi Spain S.A. And that the next day 23 will take place the first view in which the German manufacturer will seek to economically compensate those affected by this scandal.
