OCU working with the European Commission to compensate consumers Volkswagen

26 jul. 2016

The European Commission has taken sides in favor of European consumers in the Volkswagen scandal known as Dieselgate the refusal of the German company to compensate European consumers in the same way it has done with the Americans.

Since OCU is considered inadmissible this clearly discriminatory treatment of European consumers, the main market for Volkswagen.

Therefore OCU is working closely with the European Commission to end abandon that have been condemned European consumers since it came to light the scandal Volkswagen emissions at the end of 2015.

The European Commission plans after his recent meeting with the European Consumers Organisation (BEUC), address this issue in September with other European consumer organizations to seek formulas that can serve to address the compensation due to Volkswagen. As I said the vice president of the Commission responsible energy and climate change "for the same car in America you receive compensation and an apology in Europe".

OCU has already presented a few days ago a class action lawsuit before the Commercial Courts of Madrid against Volkswagen-Audi Group S.A. claiming economic for those affected by fraud uncovered emissions last September and recognized by the German group compensation. From OCU recalls that consumers who wish to join this class action is still time to do so until July 31, the date on which the closure of the open web Movilízate campaign is scheduled http://www.ocu.org/movilizate/mentira-vw or by calling 900 907 037 for which have been interested more than 9,400 people since its opening in March.
