Descend record in February on the price of light

The price of electricity on the wholesale market has declined again during the month of February. This sharp reduction is added to the already produced last January.

Specifically since January 2014, when households began to bill them VBAC with the price of the wholesale market never had obtained an average monthly price per kWh as reduced: € 0.09255/ kWh.

This sharp drop in prices has contributed decisively the weather. The wind and rain has also provided a greater contribution of renewable energies. This is common during the first quarter of the year but this time has intensified since for many hours the most expensive technologies (combined cycle ...), which are normally set the price in the wholesale market have not been necessary.

For OCU the great benefit from these price reductions are customers who have contracted the regulated tariff VBAC. At the same household bill this month is reduced to 56 €, while a year ago for the same amount paid 66 €. We must remember that the VBAC those reductions are combined with other months of strong increases significantly penalizing the bill.

Customers who are on the free market will not benefit from this price reduction last January, as neither price increases in the same wholesale market.
